The UnScene Tour is Coming to W Dallas Victory June 11th

(Los Angeles, CA) April xx, 2008 – Continuing its hunt to expose the nation to incredible emerging photographers, The UnScene Mobile Gallery Tour is coming to Dallas, Texas on June 11th!  Whether you’re a pro or amateur, photographers of all kinds can submit their $25 entry fee along with a portfolio with up to 20 photos to www.unscenetour.com for a chance to be seen at the Decorazon Gallery in Dallas later this year!

Hundreds will enter, but only five finalists will be chosen to showcase up to 10 of their most stunning, interesting and jaw-dropping photographs at the W Dallas Victory on June 11th.  But the best part? All of the shown prints will be on sale to help benefit both the photographer and a worthy local charity.

Now marking its third year in dedication to exposing unknown creatives, the UnScene Tour was launched to help emerging artists find an audience and give photographers a vehicle to launch their careers. How do they do it? Traveling city to city, The UnScene produces special one-night gallery events showcasing the work of five finalists and their ”unscene” images. Since 2005, the UnScene has discovered more than 80 photographers and helped to place artists at leading galleries and museums in cities like New York, Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans and many more.

Last year, Wade Griffith won the UnScene and received his own show at the Afterimage Gallery in Dallas, one of the most prestigious galleries in the country! Griffith will return to the UnScene this year with his newest work on sale for charity. But this year, the winning photographer in Dallas will be awarded a mini show at the Decorazon, a gallery created specifically for promoting art within a young, dynamic market of emerging collectors.

“Last year we had the great fortune of finding some truly incredible and gifted photographers,” says UnScene Tour founder Julie Chytrowsky. “While this isn’t a contest looking for any one image – we’re reviewing portfolios to discover an entirely new style – I’m really looking forward to seeing those breathtaking shots that really help define the artist behind them.”

About the UnScene Tour
The UnScene Tour aims to find emerging artists across the country – city to city. The tour launched in 2005 and has been traveling with the W Hotel chain since day one.  Most artists discovered by the UnScene have never had a show before and take pictures as a hobby hoping one day to be “seen.”
